At Bachem, our employees are the heart of our success. In this edition of Bachem Voices, we introduce Marc Perret, a Project Manager in Operational Engineering, who contributes to designing and building a large-scale peptide manufacturing line for peptides in the new building K in Bubendorf.

My motto in life: Don’t worry about things that cannot be changed; there’s plenty of time to worry if they occur.

A PASSION FOR GROWTH AND INNOVATION

Marc joined Bachem in June 2022 and was drawn to the company’s ambitious expansion plans. As part of the Operational Engineering team, he thrives in an environment encouraging innovation and cross-functional collaboration.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PROJECT MANAGER

As a Project Manager, Marc ensures the project meets quality standards, stays on schedule, and remains within budget. His daily tasks vary depending on the project stage. Currently, in the commissioning phase—the start-up of the installation — his typical day includes:

✔ Team alignment meetings to review technical challenges

✔ On-site inspections to solve issues

✔ Project planning and stakeholder updates

✔ Collaborating across departments to keep everything on track

Marc emphasizes how digital tools like Azure DevOps Planner streamline project management. Bachem ensures all team members are well-trained to maximize efficiency.

FINDING FULFILLMENT IN TEAMWORK

What Marc values most is teamwork. As a project manager, he removes roadblocks, supports decision-making, and fosters a motivated and solution-oriented team spirit.

BALANCING WORK AND LIFE

To recharge after a busy day, Marc turns to sports. Whether it’s golf in the summer or indoor exercise in the winter, staying active helps him clear his mind and maintain balance.

LOOKING AHEAD: GROWTH AND LEADERSHIP

Marc is excited about the future at Bachem. Once his current project is completed, he looks forward to improving engineering standards and mentoring new team members.
