Making sustainability measurable and actionable in peptide manufacturing

How can we make sustainability measurable and actionable in peptide manufacturing?

A year ago, we set out to tackle a key challenge in peptide manufacturing: turning complex supply chain and production data into meaningful sustainability insights. Today, we’re pleased to share that this vision is now taking shape. Together with Sridevi Maalika Ramanoudjame, PhD, MBA, and under the academic guidance of Prof. Walter Van Dyck at Vlerick Business School, we successfully developed a predictive Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tool designed specifically for peptide manufacturing.

This innovative approach transforms complex supplier and manufacturing data into actionable sustainability metrics, enabling more informed decisions across the production process. Bachem was pleased to support this initiative through the guidance of Steffen Eller, Group Leader R&D, and Riccardo Bernasconi, Director Business Development, by providing data, industry expertise, and real-world insights to help turn an ambitious concept into a practical solution. This achievement marks an important step in our broader sustainability journey, and we look forward to building on this work in the years ahead.

Congratulations and thank you to Sridevi, Prof. Van Dyck, and everyone at Bachem who contributed to making this project a success.
