71st ASMS

The American Society for Mass Spectrometry (ASMS) was formed in 1969 to promote and disseminate knowledge of mass spectrometry and allied topics. Membership includes over 8,500 scientists involved in research and development. Members come from academic, industrial and governmental laboratories. Their interests include advancement of techniques and instrumentation in mass spectrometry, as well as fundamental research in chemistry, geology, forensics, biological sciences and physics.

ASMS is a 501 c 3 non-profit corporation governed by an elected Board of Directors.

ASMS sponsors the Annual Conference on Mass Spectrometry and Allied Topics that is attended by more than 6,500 scientists. Over 3,000 papers are presented as posters and talks.Annual Conference Homepage (asms.org)

Bachem poster session on June 7, 2023, 10:30 am

Poster session about 'Sequence confirmation and impurity characterization of therapeutic oligonucleotides'

This poster describes the method development for full sequence confirmation of the oligonucleotide CpG1018, a 22mer oligonucleotide. The accumulated know-how about the instrument parameters and the gas phase properties is applied to elucidate the structure of impurities in a development sample using LC-MS/MS.

SPEAKER

Giovanni Calderisi

Senior Scientist QC

Giovanni joined Bachem in Bubendorf (Switzerland) in September 2020 as an expert in mass spectrometry of oligonucleotides. In his current position as a project chemist he is responsible for establishing routine workflows for characterization of oligonucleotides and peptides by ultra-high resolution mass spectrometry. Giovanni holds a Ph.D. in chemistry with focus on biomolecular mass spectrometry at the University of Innsbruck, Austria.
