Peptides are involved in many physiological processes (e.g., increased collagen production) and have various benefits (e.g., anti-aging). Especially their integral role within the skin makes peptides valuable cosmetic ingredients. However, state-of-the-art peptide synthesis requires large excess of reagents and solvents, leading to a high PMI (process mass intensity). Bachem / Jitsubo`s exclusive Molecular Hiving™ technology revolutionizes peptides synthesis. Reduced solvent and reagent consumption result in a lower PMI, i.e. greener peptide manufacturing. It is especially suited for the synthesis of cosmetic peptides, as carcinogenic, mutagenic, or reprotoxic (CMR) solvents and reagents can entirely be avoided during manufacturing.
