Do it right, by not doing it yourself – the value of a good CDMO partner

Developing a new drug is a very complex process and only one in a hundred candidates make it from the bench to the market. Partnering with a specialized Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) can have many advantages especially for complex API like peptides or oligonucleotides. The lecture will discuss the key benefits of such a collaboration and the trends and innovation in the market that aim at better serving the needs of the customers.

About the speaker:

Tycho Leifels studied chemistry at the universities of Basel and Zurich and wrote his PhD thesis on Model Compounds for Cytochrome P450 with Prof. Wolf D. Woggon in 1999. He has a broad experience from working for over 20 years in various commercial roles in the life science industry. Starting with local Product Management in Switzerland with Pfizer, he was leading Marketing International at the generics company Mepha, building the portfolio for Europe after the merger with Biotech company Cephalon, and has a successful track record leading Business Development and Pipeline Ptrategy at Teva Europe. Since 2019 he is heading Product Management at the CDMO company Bachem that specializes in complex API like peptides and oligonucleotides.
