Webinar Evaluation of linear SPPS vs. conjugation of SPPS-based fragments

As demand for peptide-based APIs grows, selecting the most efficient and cost-effective manufacturing route is critical.

This webinar, “Evaluation of linear SPPS vs. conjugation of SPPS-based fragments” will compare the two approaches, focusing on scalability and cost in large-scale production. Using a case study, we will explore modeling assumptions, experimental setups, and key efficiency parameters  to support informed decisions in optimizing peptide API manufacturing.

About the Speakers

Pascal Engi, PhD

Senior Group Leader R&D

Pascal Engi studied chemistry at the University of Bern, Switzerland. He then joined the group of Prof. Florian Seebeck at the University of Basel, where he obtained his Ph.D. for designing and synthesizing modified peptide and amino acid probes to elucidate enzymatic mechanisms in 2017. In 2018 he started his career as project chemist with Bachem in Switzerland. Pascal took a position as team leader in the R&D department after a short while and later as senior group leader in the same department. During his time at Bachem he has been involved with many successful and challenging process development projects as well as GMP and non-GMP manufacturing campaigns.

Günter Pappenberger, PhD

Senior CMC Project Leader

Günter has a degree in Biochemistry (1996) and a PhD in Biophysics (2000). Throughout his career, he has worked on proteins and peptides across various industries and applications. He joined Bachem in 2021 and in his current role as CMC project leader, he is supporting Bachem’s clients in the development and implementation of large scale manufacturing processes for peptides.
