Employee Testimonials

Jean-Philippe Roux, Production Manager, Bachem Ltd. Branch Vionnaz

After studying Chemical and Biological Engineering at the “Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne”, Bachem Ltd. Branch Vionnaz (former Sochinaz SA) gave me the opportunity to start my professional career as a Process Engineer. I was in charge of the introduction, the supervision and the optimization of production processes. Two years later, I was promoted to the position of a Production Manager. In my present job, I deal with process control, production planning and people management. I particularly like the strong technical aspect, the variety of the tasks and the wide operating range that is offered by my job.

Mirta Katnich, Regulatory Affairs Project Coordinator, Bachem Inc. (California)

My career at Bachem, Inc. (California) started in the Production Department following my graduation from California State University with a degree in Biochemistry and in Chemistry. While working as a Production Chemist, I performed core active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing processes. The following year, I was transferred to the Quality Assurance Department, where I was soon promoted to a QA Specialist II. After four years in this position, I was offered a job in the Regulatory Affairs Group, which introduced me to the exciting and ever-changing world of the laws and regulations mandated by the federal government. I was promoted to the Regulatory Affairs Manager position where I was able to participate actively in some very challenging registration projects, even together with the other companies of the Bachem Group.

Ian Pritchard, Synthesis Laboratory Manager, Bachem UK

I joined Bachem UK as a Chemist in the Synthesis Group, shortly after graduating from university. Initially my duties focused on solid phase peptide synthesis in a small team. By and by, Bachem UK expanded and I was appointed manager of the team. Concurrent to this, I began a part-time PhD course in collaboration with Imperial College London researching appetite suppressing hormones. My current duties involve the organisation of a large number of projects, troubleshooting problems with instrumentation and supervising the work of the chemists in the Synthesis Group. Working at Bachem has taught me the value of working hard as part of a team and given me the ability to meet tight deadlines without sacrificing quality. I thoroughly enjoy my day to day work as there are always interesting and challenging projects.

Gilles Donnet-Monay, Technical Expert, Bachem Ltd. Branch Vionnaz

Before joining Bachem Ltd. Branch Vionnaz (former Sochinaz SA) I worked several years as a chemical operator. After an extended introduction period in the production department I became a shift leader. During more than two years I got familiar with this sector. Now after my promotion, I am the technical expert of Bachem Ltd. Branch Vionnaz. My mission is to coordinate the maintenance of our installations and to train our employees internally. I like my job because of its variety and its technical challenges. Moreover I have the chance to be in contact with different people every day.

Boris Corpataux, Director Sales, Bachem AG

I joined the Sales Department of Bachem AG as a Technical Associate. During my tenure, I have held various positions e.g. Sales Representative, Team Leader Sales, and Team Leader Business Development, before I was promoted to my current position as Director of Sales. Effective 1st January 2012, I have been responsible for the sales of our Generic APIs, the non-GMP Custom Synthesis, and a wide range of Catalogue Products. Our sales team also supports our customers on all technical and regulatory aspects as needed. I enjoy my job because it promotes a broad spectrum of knowledge, personal and professional responsibility, and flexibility. I also welcome and appreciate the intensive interaction with internal and external contacts.
