Process scale MCSGP purification of large synthetic molecules

In 2021, Bachem AG acquired the first two process scale MCSGP systems for the HPLC and AEX purification of peptides and oligonucleotides (20 and 30 cm diameter columns). The systems are qualified for GMP use and first purifications at scale were successfully performed.
In this presentation, Bachems efforts to establish large scale MCSGP for the purification of peptides and oligonucleotides will be shown; starting from initial small scale experiments in 2017 to the first large scale purification of peptides and oligonucleotides in 2022. Besides showing real data from process development and manufacturing, the presentation will also provide insights regarding the potential fit into facility issue of MCSGP, potential control strategies, and the general work flow for process scale MCSGP purification of large synthetic molecules.
