Cell-permeable peptides (CPPs) are short peptides able to pass the cell membrane. CPPs have found use for transporting cargo molecules as fluorophores, drugs, nucleic acids or proteins into cells. Typically, CPPs contain a large proportion of positively charged amino acids, especially arginine, or an alternating sequence of charged and non-polar residues.
